2007

After years of working with multinational companies and conducting user research all over the world, Insight decided it was time to open another office - but this time, it would be overseas.

Shanghai seemed to be the most opportune location; not only was it centrally located in Asia, but Shanghai was a growing design center and the Chinese market was becoming a bigger priority for many of Insight's clients.

In 2007, Insight Asia opened with a full time research staff composed of a principal researcher who relocated from the Chicago office and a bilingual staff of Chinese researchers.“Having a presence in Asia means our clients will have the most in-depth and current research while keeping travel costs to a minimum for clients based in North America or Europe,” said Mark Slaven, partner. “Our office has been very well received and we expect that our office will grow rapidly in the next couple of years to meet the needs of our clients.”

Insight will celebrate 20 years of successful design and innovation on July 18, 2008. To commemorate this achievement, we will post a short story about our company’s evolution each month until our anniversary.
