Staff and Senior Industrial Designers - Raleigh
Insight is searching for passionate and creative hands-on Industrial Designers to join our product development team in Raleigh, North Carolina. Candidates must possess strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills. We are seeking creative problem solvers with the ability to efficiently interact with other disciplines as well as clients. The highly collaborative nature of this position will require the candidate to interact comfortably with design, research, and engineering teams in the Raleigh facility as well as Insight offices in Chicago and Boston.
We are searching for Staff and Senior level Industrial Design candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Strong conceptual/sketching skills
- A knowledge and appreciation of current marketplace design trends
- Ability to identify product opportunities through research, experience, and/or observation
- Understanding and demonstrated implementation of design language
- High level of aesthetic sensitivity including form, color, material, and finish
- Working knowledge of contemporary manufacturing processes
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Passionately motivated with a high level of responsibility and professionalism
- Exceptional communication skills: writing, presenting, storytelling
Requirements:
- Staff level candidates must have 2-5 years experience
- Senior level candidates must have 5+ years of experience
Specific skills:
- Strong 2D visualization skills (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Ability to create 3D databases (Rhino, Alias, Solid Works)
- Ability to fabricate preliminary mockups or volume studies in various media
