Insight presented to global audience at 2007 IDSA Conference
October 31, 2007 – San Francisco hosted thousands of industrial designers from around the world for CONNECTING'07, the Icsid/IDSA World Design Congress October 17-20. Insight was among the speakers - including designers, educators, business leaders, innovators and scientists - who took the stage during the three day conference.
Matthew Jordan, director of research, and Steve McPhilliamy, director of design, presented "Creating Brand Affinities for Medical Products as they move from Hospital to Home" detailing to the audience why the emotional connections people have with medical products are essential because of the rise in home healthcare.
Ed Geiselhart, senior program manager, was part of an educational panel and presented his topic of ""Connecting Design Research to Global Business" which outlined how to repurpose learnings from traditional research methodologies in innovative ways to achieve success in a global market.
During the conference Insight was honored for winning a Gold IDEA award for their green design concept, the Verdi Lawnscaping System. The Verdi design, along with Insight's Silver IDEA winning concept, the Sync washing system, were on display in the IDEA Award Gallery.
"The IDSA Conference was a great opportunity for us, not only because we were presenting and accepting an award, but because of the chance to talk with our peers in the design industry," said Steve Mcphilliamy, director of design, who along with 5 other Insight team members attended the conference. "We attended numerous sessions which confirmed to us that our continuously evolving offerings help drive the most current methods and solutions in the design industry."
