The Mansion: A perfect mix of location, functionality and beauty

The Shanghai skyline is instantly recognizable because of iconic skyscrapers like the Pearl Tower and the Jin Mao Building. Amidst all the new developments available for an office, an 88 year-old classical mansion situated off the busy Nanjing Road is where Insight houses their Asia office.

Dubbed The Mansion, it was designed and built in 1919 by a Hungarian architect for a businessman from Hong Kong, who lived there with his family until 1949. Much of the architecture and building characteristics are neo-classical, common among several buildings constructed during that era due to the large number of Europeans who migrated to Shanghai in the early 20th century.

In 2005 the building was renovated to provide companies a unique office space that is completely modern with technology and amenities while preserving the original architectural elements.

"We spent a lot of time looking for the perfect space in Shanghai," said Mark Slaven, partner. "The Mansion has everything we need, plus the design elements that we loved. Interestingly enough, all of our offices are in buildings that are over 75 years old and have history and stories behind them."
