Hill-Rom: Envision Wound Surface Controller
Intuitive Interaction
Hospital rooms are typically outfitted with a variety of devices, all with varying interaction architectures and input schemes. The nomadic nature of this product, which needs to control a variety of surfaces and ancillary bed functions coupled with the fact that clinicians have varying degrees of familiarity with the interface, meant the interaction had to be self-evident. The intuitive design supports the appropriate wound therapy, controlling the surface to rotate the patient without assistance, and effectively monitoring the system for status and alerts. As with the hardware side of the system, Insight iteratively tested and refined the interaction design to arrive at the best possible solution.
