Oh, the pressure!
Pulled hair and sore pressure points do not inspire compliance. Armed with a focused understanding of worker dissatisfaction and supervisor goals, Insight began to ideate on solutions for a new half mask respirator with a full face respirator to follow. The first task was to make the respirators more comfortable when worn. By redistributing the weight of the respirator so that it is suspended on the workers head (instead of held in place by shear tension), the new designs reduced pressure points around the workers face and neck. More pliable materials for the straps and the face mask as well as adjustability in different dimensions for the straps increased the flexibility of the respirator to fit different anthropometrics and improved the comfort of the product universally.
