Designed for efficiency
Through extensive user research and task analysis, Insight uncovered several workflow challenges faced by operators that could be effectively addressed through interface design. A key finding was that the collection system would need to support a flexible workflow to accommodate interruptions, a variety of clinic protocols, and multitasking like entering data while monitoring system processes. Since most collections are routine, we focused the interface on communicating collection status and when the instrument was ready for the next step rather than telling the operators what to do. This approach helps operators to manage multiple donors and supports different operators sharing tasks.
