Getting it made, halfway around the world
The chosen manufacturing vendor was located in Shenzen China, which of course posed interesting issues. Working around a language and time zone barrier, Insight developed sketches with notes and questions to communicate with the vendor via email every week. Comments were made and sent back to Insight for revisions and updates. This frequent communication was critical to achieve the target price point for the tools. Once all of the input was received and agreed upon, a complete Pro/E database was developed and delivered for design control.
